In telling the story better?
We've all heard the quote, "Scars are tattoos with better stories." But is this really true?
It is the story of how he fell off his bike and had a stone in the knee actually better than the story told by a veteran of World War II how he got this tattoo while parked in an exotic location with their friends War? I think the stories are two different things. One is a story that is shared and often linked to other, and the other is one that sometimes is maintained only for that person and privileged few by the memories it evokes. If it is simply history that we believe it would be better to go with the scar.
However, there are different types of tattoo stories. Tales of a Spring Break in Panama, a family or friend to remember forever or just a night of fun in college. What history should be more interested in hearing? For the most part, I think it is spring break or the crazy night in college … because they want to reach out to more people and learn something as intimate as the story behind the anchor, the initial and the dates that sometimes adorn the bodies around us.
Is it so terrible to walk in someone you know and ask about the tattoo on his arm or leg? Sometimes understand the meaning of the tattoo by looking at it, but what really understand the reasoning behind the person getting that unless you take the time to ask? Most people are happy to share this information with you and most of the time, surely be amazed by how individuals can be open when you tell them given a chance.
As we have seen the Olympic Games this summer a lot about tattoos been raised by a given photo. Yes, I speak of Misty May Treanor / Photo President Bush. Misty has three tattoos: one on the back below the Roman numeral five with the original (the tattoo is your favorite number, and the basketball player Jason Kidd).
These data, if you've ever watched a game, including May Treanor and partner Kerri Walsh, (or if you saw the interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show ") You know Kerri slap on the ground after a good play. All that President Bush was no more appropriate than when they visited their practice. No I dare not imagine what former President Clinton would do in this position. But back to the tattoos and scars …
I wonder if Misty enjoys the fact that all everyone knows what their tattoos mean. He was heard throughout the Olympics, one shoulder is in memory of his mother, Barbara, in May, one of the famous photograph also includes the initials of their grandmothers, and M2 tattooed her wrist, a tattoo he shares with her husband, Marlin catcher Matt Treanor (but we have not heard of that one … maybe not because it's too obvious?)
Are we talking about the scars that Misty was undoubtedly all his years in the sport? I have not heard a thing from all athletes or scars celebrity, unless undergo surgery and therefore the scar is employment. "I heard that the scar is to climb a tree in the yard or the scar of a party Little League baseball. Why is – this?
Tattoos are far more interesting than the scars? Does having a tattoo is something that is more important that the scar while sliding into home to score the winning run? Who decides what is more important?
