Is it really more reasonable to say that one (or three) invisible person (s) to live in the sky a dozen?
It's really all that separates the modern Judeo-Christian polytheistic at all scary.
I think that polytheism monotheism is a more viable alternative, strictly as a pantheon God is not perfect, with occasional disputes and problems that explains better than anything one God supposedly perfect allowing the atrocities. A perfect God who the problem of evil, a perfect blend of gods than it solves. Being an atheist anyway.
