White Sox
The young Venezuelan shortstop Luis Aparicio, broke into a baseball at an early age, then maintained for the season enough to be considered one of the largest short time.
Aparicio came to the United States at a time that was weird. He signed with the Chicago White Sox and made his debut in MLB in 1956.
1956 proves to be a decisive year for the shortstop. Win Rookie of the year after the American League leader in stolen bases. This would establish the norm for years to come, because it would have the League stolen base title every year until 1964.
Aparicio was also an outstanding fielder. He won a total 9 Gold Gloves, including five in a row from 1958 to 1962.
After the 1962 season, the Sox sent him to the Orioles team that won the Series World Cup with only 1966. He will return to the White Sox in 1968, then played three seasons with the Boston Red Sox 1971-73 before retiring for good.
Aparicio has done everything expected of a shortstop of his era. He could not field, he could run and could Knock Knock. Shortstop compared with today, statistics may not publish this great, but has always considered a valuable player for his time.
Venezuela has been honored for their achievements in 1984, when became the first player from his country forever enshrined in the Hall of Fame Baseball. He remains a fan favorite for fans who remember White Sox # 11 at shortstop.
